Yesterday Ian and myself travelled along a road so straight and tedious, even the Romans would query as to where they were. The road in question was the A50. Fortunatly we only had to traverse half way along, to Uttoxeter Racecourse.
The VJMC were in attendance with their 4th motorcycle show at this particular venue, report to follow at a later date.
Many different clubs attended and also some weird and wonderful machines from the past. The question I'm putting to you, my reader, what does this engine power and who do you think might own it?
Meanwhile I must finish part two of Chocks Away

had me fooled !!
How do you expect me to know that???
Just get on with some more chocks away stuff...please.
I racked my brains on this.....it was so familiar. Then I remembered that I once had an Agency for them!
It's a Fantic Ti - 50cc sports moped - c. '74.
Now to who would own one; Edgar Jessop?
Steady Affer, I think you have got a little excited. It is indeed a Fantic, but not the sports moped.
I'm sure that I have seen a picture in Man's Moped Monthly circa 1976 with Edgar Jessop in action on a similar machine to this in the '76 TT. He was lying in sixth place until his plimsol laces got tangled around the pedals.
Nikos, it will be soon.....promise.
I remember sports mopeds! A conradiction in terms if ever there was one....
Sorry Ted!!! Overposts now deleted - and I got so excited that I overlooked the obvious. I axed myself, what could it be?
And it's so much more laid back and easy riding than the Ti. What a find! Looks like a teutal renovation......
My Grandfather indeed raced at the Isle of Man, but I think he was last there in '73 on a Rudge Multi. In practice he did an 84mph lap, but the scrutineers refused him leave to race because his Cromwell helmet did not have an ACU sticker.
Indeed Camilla, prehaps it was just a lap of honour for the all time greats of the TT?
The ACU always have to have their free advertising do they not?
Affer, if only OCC could do something this cool!
Reminds me of the great song written by Saturn Kindlewood, recorded by Step On Wolf with the immortal line "Racin' with the breeze"
I was excited to see this I jump right in to post the answer. What! someone beat me to it. Damn.
