Must watch it again soon as neither Ian or myself can remember the cat. As the three of us grow older our interests in places and their souls expands.

Baron: No worries. I was originally thinking of using the Blue Danube Waltz for the film with it having the Vienna connection.
The creaking of the carriages can be heard quite well near the beginning. Just hope they check for woodworm from time to time. :o)bikertedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16787908890609485075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7395478019622770176.post-24711888389881459132009-05-17T04:30:00.000+01:002009-05-17T04:30:00.000+01:00Sorry haven't been around much of late....I'm slow...Sorry haven't been around much of late....I'm slowly getting back again...have been posting on the fly but nothing else... I love the vienna waltz music but that's one hell of an old delapitated looking ride... The Third Man rates as one of my favourite films (remember the cat?) but my one and only visit to Vienna was before I appreciated its sublety - that's the film's AND the City's. And I didn't see the Riesenrad then. In the book "The Devil and the White City" there are some nice descriptions of the original Ferris Wheel at the Columbian Exposition of 1893.Afferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04053428773264067176noreply@blogger.com
